New Cartesian Coordinates Button
New Cartesian Coordinates Button
When you press this button, you get the above requester. You can enter
X and Y coordinates and click Move to send the telescope
there, or Cancel
to close the requester and not move the telescope at all.
Some checking is done on the entered coordinates to make sure they are
valid. The possible errors reported are:
- Empty Field - if either the X or Y fields are empty, an error box
pops up telling you so and allows you to either fill in the missing
coordinate or cancel the move.
- Coordinates are Off the Disk - If your X or Y are so large that the
center of your field of view will be off the solar disk, you are
warned, but allowed to continue if you really want to. In this way,
you are protected from testing the limit switches if you accidentally
type in an extra zero or two, but allowed to move off
the disk if you want to concentrate on a prominence or limb flare, for
example. If you do accept the coordinates and move off the disk, the
Latitude and Longitude
display fields will be set to ****, since they will
be un-defined.
- PC Guider Error - Other errors can come from the PC Guider after
the move command has been issued. In this case, the message is
displayed and the program sees how far the telescope actually moved
and adjusts the displayed coordinates accordingly.
