New Heliocentric Coordinates Button
New Heliocentric Coordinates Button
When you press this button, you get the above requester. You can enter
solar Latitude and Longitude coordinates and click Move
to send the telescope there, or Cancel to close the
requester and not move the telescope at all.
Some checking is done on the entered coordinates to make sure they are
valid. The possible errors reported are:
- Empty Field - if either the Lat. or Long. fields
are empty, an error box
pops up telling you so and allows you to either fill in the missing
coordinate or cancel the move.
- Ill-defined Latitude - the allowable range for Latitude Coordinates is
between -90 and 90. You must either correct the entry or Cancel the
move.
- Ill-defined Longitude - the allowable range for Longitude Coordinates is
between 0 and 360. You must either correct the entry or Cancel the
move.
- Off the Visible Disk - it is possible to enter a valid Lat. and Long.
pair that describe a position on the far (not visible) side of the
Solar disk. You must either re-enter the coordinates, or cancel the
move. (Note: you can also get this error if you are updating for
rotation and the area you are following has rotated off the visible
part of the sun.)
- PC Guider Error - Other errors can come from the PC Guider after
the move command has been issued. In this case, the message is
displayed and the program sees how far the telescope actually moved
and adjusts the displayed coordinates accordingly.
