Unfortunately, at this time, the Macintosh only makes an image available once an hour, so this button has little practical purpose. The ultimate goal, however, is to have the Macintosh always ready with a new image that is either loaded on demand by clicking this image, or automatically by the software.
Clicking on Load Image in one telescope's control GUI will also cause the other telescope's control GUI to load the new image once it's available. This feature means you only have to load an image for one GUI to get them both updated. However, it also means, if for some reason, you wanted different images in each GUI, you can't.
Since the loading of an image takes some time, two different messages are displayed in the Message Area during the process. The first one, Working on loading a new solar image.... means that the process has started of getting an image from the Macintosh and making the necessary changes for display. This is just to let you know that the image load is in progress, so you don't re-click on the Load Image button, getting impatient waiting for the image to load. (Although if you do get impatient and request a new image multiple times, you will get an information requester telling you to be more patient in various different ways....) The second message, Loading the new image. The GUI won't respond until it's loaded. means the image processing has finished and the image is now being loaded. Since the load process takes a few seconds, the GUI will be unable to respond to your actions during the load process.
